MURRAY AND KATIE HAVE BEEN OUR FRIENDS FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS, AND WOW DOES TIME FLY. We’re so close now, that this past summer we stayed in a villa and drove all over an island in greece with them. We definitely vet our close friends by who we can travel with, and traveling with these two was seamless and so chill. I even checked back in my dm’s to remember when we met, and of course… it was through working remotely from coffee shops, mainly lowdown Coffee (back in the day when that was allowed and before it properly blew up in popularity in the best way), and our love of a good cup of filter. I used to work remotely from Lowdown Coffee all of the time back in 2017, when I was living in chicago, but visiting edinburgh for months at a time to spend quality time with Ross (my now husband), during our 4 year long distance relationship before we got married. So yes, murray was one of my first friends here and I of course eventually took some couples portraits of Murray and katie strolling around Stockbridge back in the day, without knowing that my husband and I would eventually buy our first home here in stockbridge.
Anyways, throughout the years, murray, my husband and myself all connected over photography, and katie and I were able to grow closer whenever they both eventually moved full time to the city down in leith. I always feel like I’m the “cool one” (that shows how uncool I actually am) in a lot of my older friend groups, but honestly, these two keep me humble… as they are a bit younger than us, properly cool, always know the best brands and have the best style without even trying.
I have truly loved watching them both grow in their creative passions throughout the years, Murray Orr with his Travel, commercial and editorial photographer career all around Scotland, the UK and now abroad, as well as Katie’s talent and skill for hosting supper clubs, dinner parties, baking, cooking, as well as styling and planning events. I mean, she quite literally styled her entire wedding day, while of course working with some of the best suppliers to make their chill and intimate wedding day come true.
katie and Murray had their wedding ceremony at Custom House Gallery, located on the shore in Leith, and their vision of organic materials and abstract florals everywhere was executed by none other than Ochre Botanic Studios. Marion and Sophie, from Ochre Botanic studios, did such an amazing job, as always. They did her organic bouquet as well. Which again, instead of me describing the textures, you can just view the images of all of their florals below.
After their ceremony, they had a confetti exit at the custom house gallery, then after all of the hugs, all of their guests had a short 10 second walk over to Custom Lane, where they rented out Williams and Johnson’s space, the Custom Lane Gallery and the Courtyard, for their guests to enjoy stunning bites by Harkness Pies, The Shore Deli (Roxi and Meave), Pheobe (Selene) and Marias Kitchen, who made the tiramisu. They were also all able to grab a coffee from WIlliams and Johnson or a drink (natural wines are always their top choice) then go and sit or dance to enjoy the local band, The Lone Bear play.
Rolling back to the start of the day a bit, ross and I joined them at their flat in Leith, for a coffee and to grab a few casual snaps of them getting ready together, on both medium format and 35mmfilm as well as digital (which is what Ross and I photographed with for the entire day). on our walk over to custom lane we stopped to take bride and groom portraits at The pavilion at Lamb’s House Garden. The Garden was the perfect spot for portraits in a private and secluded green space with endless history all around them with the architecture and unique garden design and landscape architecture. The very first time I was at the Pavilion at Lamb’s House was when I photographed the space for their website many years ago now for Gras. It’s still as stunning as ever, and was such a beautiful backdrop for Murray and Katie’s unique wedding day outfits, which you can scroll to the bottom to see the details below.
After the cocktail hour at Custom lane and Williams and Johnson Coffee, the guests had a little break before they had a smaller group congregate in the private dining upstairs room at Montrose Restaurant in the center of Edinburgh for a multi-course plated dinner and dessert. and of course, plenty of natural wine to go around. There were heartfelt speeches, endless good food and drinks and lots of laughs with friends! Being guests ourselves, I can truly say that this day was so much fun and so full of joy. We love this group of people so much, and we’re excited to continue making memories with Katie and Murray throughout the rest of our lives. x

Edinburgh City Chambers Elopement | Intimate Wedding Reception at Ardfern Restaurant in Leith | Jemma + Saf | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
Edinburgh City Chambers Elopement | Intimate Wedding Reception at Ardfern Restaurant in Leith | Jemma + Saf | Edinburgh WEdding Photographer
Jemma and Saf, two of the most creative and go-getter individuals I know, had a beautiful Edinburgh City Chambers Elopement and intimate wedding day in Edinburgh, Scotland. This couple is not only dear friends of ours, but Jemma was actually my first friend that I made in edinburgh. I met up with her for coffee when I was visiting Edinburgh, years before I even met my husband Ross, who always says he first saw my profile from Jemma's Instagram. And as I wasn't using my Instagram account to focus on weddings yet at that time, and it was just filled with flat lays of coffee tables at cafes from my travels, naturally I was always connecting to people over coffee whenever I would travel to new places. And now Jemma and Saf own one of the edgiest coffee shops in Edinburgh, called Beatnik. It’s been such a joy watching them along thier journey of their relationship as well as their passion for design, art and coffee to all align for them to create inspiring and creative businesses within the edinburgh community.
So back to their wedding day, we started their wedding day by meeting at the courtyard of Edinburgh City Chambers, so go for a wander around The Royal Mile and The Old Town of Edinburgh. It’s truly an iconic part of the city and has the most historic buildings and gothic architecture to stroll around in. It’s always a beautiful area to take elopement portraits when getting married at The City CHambers, since it’s located in the heart of The Royal Mile. We strolled around the few blocks surrounding Edinburgh City CHambers before making our way inside before the guests arrived.
While there are many rooms that you can choose from to elope in at Edinburgh City Chambers, my favorite room will always be The European Room Suite. It can house up to 70 guests and looks out onto the historic courtyard of the chambers entrance, It is also lined with historic paintings that really make you feel like you’re in a mix between an art gallery and a scottish castle. Needless to say, they chose the European Room Suite to have their intimate ceremony in. There are rooms off to the side of the suite, where the couple can wait together or seperately, depending on if they want to see each other before the ceremony.
Jemma also had one of the loveliest wedding day outfits. Her wedding dress was from Malina, her lovely earrings were from Ellen Catherine and her shoes were from reformation. I could describe how lovely and beautiful they were in detail, but you can view the bridal portraits below to see a better visual description. All in all, it was stunning and very Jemma. Saf wore a Andrew Brookes suit and I was able to take one of my favorite groom portraits of him, in his iolla shades and holding jemma’s handbag while standing in his naturally sassy pose on The Royal Mile.
After their wedding ceremony at City Chambers, everyone headed down to ardfern for their intimate wedding reception. Ardfern is a cafe, bar and bottle shop based down in leith, and is the perfect space for an evening of cocktails and delicious bites from their creative menu.
And of course the entire restaurant was decorated in subtle but organic floral installations, by one of the best wedding florist designers in all of Scotland, Studio Kumari. Studio Kumari also designed Jemma’s stunning wedding bouquet. Another unique part of their wedding day was their extra long rectangle wedding cake. Again, the images below will speak better than my written description, but I was in love. The Pastry Section did such a wonderful job designing their wedding cake, from the frosted squiggle lines on the top to the pieces of fruit decorating the edges.
At the end of the day, Jemma and saf had such a chill and lowkey wedding day that started at the historic Edinburgh City Chambers and ended at one of their local favorite restaurants in Leith, Ardfern. I love that these two planned their day exactly how they wanted it, with their closest friends just laughing and enjoying their wedding day together, which was truly beautiful to witness as a friend and to be a part of the celebration. x
“Edinburgh City Chambers was the perfect place to get married in the heart of Edinburgh, Scotland, And Ardfern, based down in leith, was the best venue for their casual cocktail hour and intimate wedding reception.”

Capelongue Hotel Wedding in Bonnieux | Provence, France | A Beaumier Hotel & Spa | A Michelin Star Dinner at La Bastide
A destination Wedding at the Capelongue Hotel in Bonnieux, Provence, France | A Beaumier Hotel & Spa | A Michelin Star Dinner at La Bastide
Ryley and Travis chose to have a very intimate destination wedding by eloping to the south of france. They picked one of the loveliest michelin key hotels, capelongue hotel, located in Bonnieux, France. this french countryside resort was perfect for their intimate four person wedding day.
The Capelongue Hotel is only a short 5 minute walk from the historic village of Bonnieux, France. It is filled with little french interior design shops, clothing boutiques, wine bars and plenty of cafes. I love when you can stroll to a nearby town and not be landlocked in by a resort. the open countryside can be seen from most parts of the capelongue hotel, as it is built at the top of hill with valleys and beautiful rolling hills surrounding the hotel property.
Ryley had her sister in law help her get ready upstairs in their villa, while travis and his brother waited downstairs for them. She also had the lovely Elsa, of Cut by Elsa, do a lovely updo with her hair, which was perfectly suited for the windy day in the countryside. Travis wrote his vows that morning and when ryley came downstairs in her stunning, minimal wedding dress, they all cheered and had champagne on the patio balcony before heading over to the ceremony. IT was such a relaxed morning and no one was in a rush, which was the perfect start to this serene wedding day.
The ceremony was held in a beautiful room above the La Bergerie Restaurant, overlooking the bonnieux village in the background of where they said their wedding vows. ONe really unique thing about their wedding ceremony, was that they hired an officiant who could do a sound bath and organic rituals to start their marriage in a tranquil and calm space and energy. IT truly was the most calm atmosphere, and I even took my shoes off along with the officiant to stop any noises being made during the sound bath. IT was such a beautiful ceremony and moment to be able to witness and capture for these two, as it was so memorable and meaningful to them.
following the ceremony, ryley, travis and I went for a slow stroll around the property of The Capelongue Hotel to take their bridal portraits. It was a beautiful sunny day and exactly as you’d expect in the south of france. Ryley carried around her custom made bouquet by a local french floral designer, Inellay floral. After strolling around the gardens we headed to the lavender field, where their two family members were waiting for them by a Pétanque sand pit. THey had a lovely spread of local meats, cheeses and champagne all ready to celebrate the newlyweds. IT was the quaintest cocktail hour of playing Pétanque, drinking champagne, eating the charcUterie board and enjoying the views of the lavender field and capelonge pool in the background.
To end this intimate wedding at Capelongue, the four of them headed over to grab drinks from cafe capelongue before heading to have a tasting menu dinner at the fine dining restaurant, La Bastide. La Bastide is a one michelin star restaurant in the center of the hotel property, overlooking one of the pools and the beautiful french countryside. La Bastide is ran by head chef, Noël Bérard, who is “is carving out his own niche: that of a gastronomic genius inspired by nature, with a striking liveliness and depth to his cooking.” this restaurant definitely fills up, so make sure to make a reservation months before your trip. I would even go as far to say to make your plans based on La Bastide’s availability. This wedding day ended with laughter, love and the best wedding dinner in the south of france.
“capelongue HOTEl is situated in one of the loveliest areas in the countryside of france for a wedding day, right in the heart of provence, Bonnieux, france.”

Gleneagles Hotel Wedding | A Beautiful Countryside Hotel in Auchterarder, Scotland | Scotland Wedding Photographer
A Romantic Scottish Wedding Day at the Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder, Scotland | Laurie & Craig | Scotland Wedding Photographer
Laurie and craig are both scotland natives, who chose to get married in the stunning Scottish countryside at The Gleneagles Hotel. The Gleneagles Hotel is located in the heart of Scotland, in a country town called Auchterarder. Gleneagles is surrounded by beautiful gardens and is housed in a historic building that gives all of the charm of scottish warmth and hospitality.
They had their wedding ceremony in a private space, called The ParlouR ROom. After the ceremony, guests were free to roam the gardens are enjoy one of the many hotel bars at Gleneagles, while I roamed around the gardens with the couple to take their bridal portraits. After the Bridal portraits were finished, the Parlour ROom had transformed into a beautiful wedding reception, with set tables for dinner and floral arrangements designed by one of my favorite scottish florists, fiona Hay, of Ochre Botanical studios.
Laurie actually had a lot of my favorite creatives or dear friends of mine in Scotland for her wedding vendors, like Claire Nisbet Bridal for her makeup artist and had Flossy and dossy design a custom gown for her, as well as a custom veil by Natasha Hutchison at Modiste Atelier.
the Gleneagles Hotel is really the loveliest wedding venue for guests, as they are able to accommodate for everyone to stay at the hotel or on the grounds, as well as have multiple restaurant and bars around the hotel for you to arrive earlier to enjoy the property or a drink with loved ones before the ceremony started, Which is exactly what all of Laurie and craig’s guests did.
Craig and his guys had drinks in the Century Bar and then we strolled over to take photos in the american bar, as it was closed and was the perfect backdrop for a few nice portraits of the guys and their drinks without disturbing anyone. The details and architecture throughout each bar and hallway at gleneagles is perfect for portraits as well, and a lovely location in case the classic scottish weather is pouring down or a bit too breezy outside. In fact, the first time we went out to take portraits after the ceremony, there was a bit of heavy rain and wind, but the interiors of the gleneagles hotel are so lovely, we had endless spots for portraits for the couple, between the bedroom, halls, lobby, bars, and elevator area.
between the lovely plated multi course meal that the gleneagles catering staff served everyone in the parlour room and when we gathered again for dancing, the weather was nice enough to go for a longer stroll into the garden with laurie and craig. THe gardens are one of the loveliest parts of the gleneagles hotel, so it was so nice to be able to stroll along the pond, historic fountain, the grand staircases and beautiful greenery.
a couple of their friends were waiting for us at the top of the garden to greet them with cigars and drinks before we headed back inside to join the rest of the wedding party inside the parlour room for their cake cutting and dancing the night away. Overall, this wedding day at the gleneagles hotel was the perfect combination of intimate time with loved ones, vintage style, custom outfit details in a historic scottish venue.
“The Gleneagles HOTEl in AUCHTERARDER, SCOTLAND really is such a perfect place for a scottish countryside wedding day.”

Bonham Hotel Wedding in Edinburgh, Scotland | Eilidh + Ryan | Edinburgh City Chambers Ceremony | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
Bonham Hotel Wedding in Edinburgh, Scotland | Eilidh + Ryan | Edinburgh City Chambers Ceremony | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
Eilidh and Ryan had the most beautiful wedding day celebrating in Edinburgh at The Bonham Hotel and had their wedding ceremony at Edinburgh City Chambers. They started their wedding day by getting ready separately, so they could have the first look as Eilidh walked down the aisle. So I met the bride in the courtyard and photographed her entire grand entrance as she walked through the Edinburgh City Chambers courtyard, strolled up the beautiful grand staircase with red carpet and followed her all of the way up to the European Room Suite, which is the loveliest room at the City Chambers. It is filled with large, historic painted murals and elegant cornicing and detail along every inch of the walls and ceiling.
I was then able to angle myself in the front of the ceremony, to capture Ryan watching his soon to be wife stroll down the aisle as he saw her in her stunning wedding dress for the first time. She had the loveliest puff sleeved wedding dress and the most timeless princess cut and neckline that was so incredibly beautiful and flattering. I also loved her headband! After the vows, signing the registry and saying I do, the couple had their first kiss and then we took a few family portraits before we headed back outside for portraits.
We strolled over to the National Galleries of Scotland Portrait Gallery. The National Portrait Gallery of Scotland is one of my favorite places for natural light in an indoor setting of Edinburgh. So whether rain or shine, you can always rely on the Scottish Portrait Gallery to have beautifully lit couples portraits in front of floor to ceiling murals and large ornate windows. I regularly visit The Scottish National Portrait Gallery with my husband to see the latest portrait exhibits and the fact that it's only a few minutes walk away from our home.
After strolling around Edinburgh for wedding portraits, Eilidh and Ryan had their friends and family meet them at The Bonham Hotel, a beautiful boutique hotel located in the stunning West End neighborhood of Edinburgh. I love the Bonham Hotel because of how quaint the interior is, but also the staff is always so hospitable and helpful when catering to your guests. The dining hall of the Bonham hotel has a beautiful bay window overlooking a private garden on Drumsheugh Gardens.
At the end of the day, the couple was able to cut their cake, laugh with their friends and celebrate their wedding day with all of their favorite people, sweetly tucked away in the beautiful interiors of the Bonham Hotel. x

Lecropt Kirk Bridge of Allan Wedding | Kirkstyle Inn Dunning Wedding Reception | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
An intimate wedding ceremony at Lecropt Kirk in Bridge of Allan, Scotland | The Kirkstyle Inn Dunning Wedding Reception | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
Sophie and Jake had a beautiful wedding day at Lecropt Kirk in Bridge of Allan and The Kirkstyle INn in Dunning. They started their wedding day by having an intimate ceremony at the historic Lecropt Kirk in bridge of Allan, Scotland. Jake arrived early to greet their loved ones and then waited at the front of the aisle for Sophie’s Arrival. Sophie was absolutely stunning, in her vintage inspired reformation silk dress, along with her stunning makeup done by Claire Nisbet, and her beautiful bouquet by Stunning Flowers. the intimate ceremony involved singing their favorite hymns, an exchanging of rings, tunes on the trumpet by their talented friend Stephanie Kennedy and beautiful words by their pastor.
After the ceremony, the couple’s lined up for a confetti toss. Sophie and Jake hugged their loved and took a few family portraits before sending them on their way to The Kirkstyle Inn in Dunning, to enjoy drinks and canapes and await their arrival while they stayed behing for wedding portraits at Lecropt Kirk. The property is so still and quiet, that it was a nice chance for the couple to spend a little time together strolling around before going and joining all of their guests at The Kirkstyle. We even went into the Lecropt Kirk Chapel after everyone left for some intimate couple portraits in the quiet sanctuary. We then made our way through the countryside as we drove up to The Kirkstyle Inn.
I was able to arrive a little bit earlier, so the couple could have some alone time and I could scout out the best angles to capture the couple arriving at the Kirkstyle Inn and to let all of the guests know to line up outside for their arrival. They had a timeless scottish entrance with a bagpiper and drummer walking them up to their wedding reception. They were led down the streets of this tiny village in a mini parade of just the two of them as they walked up to their loved one with open arms as they all greeted the newlyweds!
The rest of the evening was in three parts at The Kirkstyle Inn. First, they all had drinks in the outdoor garden on the river, just outside of the main historic building, where both the bride and groom, along with their loved ones made speeches. Then everyone headed inside and upstairs to the private dining area, where a long table was decorated with beautiful florals, candles and white tablecloth. A beautiful juxtaposition to the walls, which were colorful and filled with historic knickknacks and trinkets from all over scotland. The menu was a mix of fine dining with an elevated pub dinner course, which is exactly what the couple wanted. This Pub is already a place I want to go back to and try more on the menu, because I can testify to how delicious the food was.
After the intimate candlelit dinner upstairs, they had a live band playing while everyone danced the night away back in the outdoor garden area. Overall, the Kirkstyle Inn was the loveliest place for this wedding day to be celebrated with their loved ones, over a delicious meal, lots of dancing and lots of love in this little scottish village of Dunning. What a beautiful and memorable scottish wedding day this was! x

Royal College of Physicians Intimate Wedding Day in Edinburgh, Scotland | Edinburgh Wedding Photography
Royal College of Physicians Intimate Wedding Day in Edinburgh, Scotland | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer | DEstination Wedding Photographer
Myranda and paul had the most beautiful, intimate wedding day in Edinburgh, Scotland. The ROyal COllege of Physicians was the main venue for their wedding day, and they had the earlier parts of their wedding scattered all over the beautiful scenes of Edinburgh. Which Jamie, of timeless white, planned the whole day out perfectly, honestly, It was one of those days that just flowed along beautifully, and I think a lot of it was his organization skills, which I really appreciate as a wedding photographer.
First, after getting ready at a flat in New town, Myranda walked over in the lovely rainy weather of scotland, that stopped just before she arrived for her first look underneath edinburgh castle. PauL was waiting for her by standing in front of the ross fountain in princes garden, while he gazed at the castle. It honestly is such a lovely spot for a first look, and the gardens are large enough that you can always find a quiet corner to have an intimate moment for your wedding day.
After the first look, Myranda and Paul strolled through Princes Garden and throughout the royal mile in Old town. They eventually made their way over to the royal cafe to grab a drink while sitting in a corner booth and have a little breather together before heading up to calton hill for the ceremony.
The filmmaker and myself, the talented David James, headed up to calton hill to give the couple some more time to themselves at their rental and to give us time to capture all of the lovely floral installations that Gloam created for their intimate wedding ceremony. The ceremony was set up on the back of the hillside on calton hill, where arthur’s seat was the iconic backdrop. After watching one day recently, I am sure arthur’s seat will be a part of even more love stories now. It really is such a beautiful hill and so close to the city. Anyways, back to the wedding day, Myranda and Paul’s wedding guests all arrived on a double decker vintage bus to the top of the hill, and myranda’s dad walked her down the aisle while paul was waiting at the top of calton hill with the landscape of edinburgh able to be seen within a 360 view all around him.
“After the ceremony on calton hill, the wedding guests headed
over to The Royal College of Physicians in the new town neighborhood
of Edinburgh, scotland for the cocktail hour in the cullen suite
and an intimate dinneR reception in the new library.”
After the ceremony, Myranda and paul joined their wedding guests aboard the vintage bus to drive over to the royal college of physicians in the new town neighborhood of edinburgh, where the guests were having cocktails upstairs in the cullen suite. Because they already had their wedding portraits taken before the ceremony they were able to mingle and enjoy the full cocktail hour with their loved ones.
When the cocktail hour was wrapping up, the opened the doors to the New library, where one long dinner table had been decorated by the edinburgh floral stylists, GLOAm. The long table was full of tall candlesticks, florals and little disco balls The dinner table was surrounded by all of the bookshelves in the royal college of physicians, and is actually a working college and library to this day. from a wedding photographers point of view, having a balcony in the library really makes for great angles of you and your guests if you choose to have your intimate wedding day at the royal college of physicians.
another reason that you would want to get married here, is that they have such lovely caterers, such as saltire hospitality, who not only have delicious and beautiful dishes they serve, but their staff is always so helpful and friendly to work with. Of course, Jamie, of the timeless White wedding planning team, made sure that myranda and paul had a wonderful team of local wedding vendors to make this wedding day run so seamlessly.
Myranda and Paul had the amazing DJ Sam Young, who has DJ’d for “George Clooney, Idris Elba weddings, Elton John’s 60th, events for Gucci, Valentino, GQ ‘most connected men’ event”… just to name a few from his socials. So what I love about this Edinburgh wedding venue that is if you really want to work with someone they are open to it, and I love that Myranda and Paul really wanted an amazing dj, even for how intimate their micro wedding day was.
They danced the night away in the great hall, where the flashing lights of the disco ball sparkled all over the grand pillars that surrounded the room as well as all over the historic and ornate sculptures and detailed cornicing work on the ceilings. Overall, the royal college of physicians was the perfect wedding venue for this intimate wedding day in Edinburgh, Scotland.

California Clipper Chicago | Segnatore RestAurant Chicago Wedding Reception | Chicago Wedding Photographer
A chicago wedding day that ended at the California Clipper with A Segnatore Restaurant family-style Dinner Reception | Chicago Wedding Photographer
Anna and erik ended their wedding day at the iconic California clipper in chicago. Butlet’s rewind to the morning of their wedding day. These two decided to get ready together and alone at one of the lovely suites at The Chicago athletic Association hotel in downtown chicago. their suite overlooked Millennium park and michigan avenue and this hotel is centrally located in the heart of chicago.
They both enjoyed their drink of choice, Miller High life, while lounging in their room before we headed over to the art institute for wedding portraits. the art institute of chicago is one of my favorite place for portraits and it’s so large with so many wings of artwork and the lighting changes so much throughout the day that no two sessions there ever feel the same. After roaming around the art institute we hopped in a car and drove over to Segnatore Restaurant to meet up with all of the guests.
Anna and Erik had a really unique wedding day because they told their guests that this wasn’t a wedding day and that they were just inviting everyone to a nice dinner. but out of nowhere (although, of course I knew in advance), they did a surPrise ceremony by standing at the bar once all of their loved ones were seated for dinner. They exachanged vows to each other with whispers, exchanged rings and then had a first kiss in front of everyone and the cheering and tears commenced! it was truly so special for everyone, as they all knew that the couple didn’t like to be the center of attention and thought they wouldn’t get the chance to witness their wedding ceremony, but they were able to, and in the couple’s own unique way.
The wedding dinner at Segnatore restaurant was served family style. I love how intimate the wedding dinner was and the style made it really feel like a traditional italian family dinner. The chef was amazing. I wish I was better at words to describe how amazing each dish was from the starters, to the pasta, to the meat, to the dessert, but you just need to go book a table at segnatore the next time you’re looking for a dinner spot in Chicago. They also have solid mocktails as well as cocktails.
segnatore restaurant is direclty across the street from The california clipper, one of the oldest neighborhood cocktail bar in humboldt park that does a wide range of live music to DJ nights. It really is a chicago staple and the drinks and moody interior vibes are solid. So after the italian dinner all of the wedding guests walked across the street to the california clipper to listen to music and hang out late into the night. I took a few Wedding portraits of Anna and Erik under the iconic California clipper neon sign just outside of the bar before I headed out, and left these two lovebirds to go live it up with their loved ones. x
“California clipper and segnatore restaurant are directly across the street from each
other, so are perfect Wedding venues for
an intimate chicago wedding day!”

Islington Town Hall Wedding with an Intimate Reception at Salut Restaurant in London
Islington town Hall Wedding ceremony and an intimate Salut Restaurant reception in Islington | London Wedding Photographer
Choosing Islington Town Hall for the intimate ceremony
Dervla and Andy, both Londoners, celebrated their intimate wedding ceremony at the stunning Islington Town Hall, a popular choice for couples seeking a beautiful wedding setting. The ceremony took place in the impressive Council Room, featuring vaulted ceilings, custom wooden pews, and large stained-glass windows that added a touch of elegance. After the heartfelt ceremony, the couple and their families exited through the grand entrance, greeted by a confetti toss and captured memorable moments on the marble staircase.
Candid moments, hugs, and A confetti toss outside OF Town Hall
they had all of their family members meet them at the cafe across the street from the town hall and then everyone walked up together to the upstairs ceremony room in islington town hall. Her sisters child and Niece were the cutest flower girls. There are a lot of town and city halls that are small rooms in basements, but islington town hall has windows that really LIGHT UP the room well ,which any photographer would appreciate WHO LOVES USING NATURAL LIGHT.
They exited through the grand entrance of Islington TOwn hall where a stunning marble staircase led them from the room to the front door. After taking a few more portraits inside the various hallways and different backdrops inside of the building, they walked out TO LOTS OF HUGS by their families.
A Stroll from Town Hall to Salut! Restaurant
Following ALL OF the portraits at Islington Town Hall, the wedding party strolled through the charming London Borough of Islington, making their way to Salut! Restaurant. This modern European fine dining establishment, located just a few blocks away, provided a warm and intimate setting for the reception. Dervla and Andy's families enjoyed drinks on the sidewalk tables while eagerly anticipating the chef's culinary creations, as the couple had rented out the entire restaurant for their special day.

Rosebery House Wedding | Rosebery Steading Wedding | Rosebery Venues | Joanne + John | Scarlett and Bell Luxury Wedding Planner | Rosebery Venues in Edinburgh, Scotland | Edinburgh
Wedding Photographer
Joanne and John, who flew all of the way over to scotland from lA, were married at The Rosebery House just outside of Edinburgh, SCotland. The Rosebery House is one of the loveliest scottish country home wedding venues that is only a short half hour from the city center of Edinburgh. not only does Rosebery House have a stunning garden and intimate chapel on the property, but just across the road is the rosebery steading, which is a larger venue for weddings with more guests. Rosebery Steading has a stunning courtyard, lodging for up to 28 guests as well as two large barn spaces for dancing, a live band or a formal dinner setting.
Joanne and john really utilized the entire rosebery venue estate. They had a welcome BBQ on the night before their wedding day in the backyard of the Rosebery house. They had it catered and winton brewery had a bar truck for all of their guests. The back of the Rosebery House had a lovely sunroom that was large enough to seat their families and friends at one long table, And they had a piano and guitar duiet, from members of Killer City Sound, playing live music during the welcome dinner.
JOanne, john and their closest friends and family spent the night between the rooms at both the rosebery house and rosebery steading, so they could all wake up and have breakfast together at the country house. Joanne had the lovely suzanne Christie do her hair and makeup in a suite overlooking the Rosebery garden and chapel entrance. there is a courtyard in the center of rosebery house where john was waiting for her to meet him for their first look just minutes before the ceremony in the chapel. Joanne then met her dad for a first look in the front of the rosebery house where he then walked her through the garden all of the way to the front of the chapel, passing by a bagpiper who was playing them in with classic scottish tunes.
After the chapel ceremony, my husband and I, along with the filmmaker, Toby from Handcraft pictures, walked around the roserbery house grounds for their wedding portraits before a vintage car drove them across the street to meet thier guests in the courtyard of rosebery steading for their outdoor cocktail hour. A saxophonist was playing live while apps and cocktails from wilde thyme were floating around. everyone eventually was led into one of the converted barn dining halls at rosebery steading for a seated multiple course dinner, where wild flower workshop had put together beautiful floral installations and table centerpieces from local foraging in the area and from all around the estate.
After dinner, espresso martinis and old fashions were handed out to everyone in the rosebery steading courtyard on their way into the other barn hall for a night of dancing to the live music of Killer City Sound. Two of the bandmates had a fun time trying to teach the americans how to do the ceilidh dances, which is always very entertaining to watch, in the most fun way possible. joanne and john went back to the rosebery house garden at sunset for a few more portraits and a slow dance as the sun went down in Scotland. at the end of the night, these two were wed in the loveliest country house scottish estate and spent the night dancing away and spending time with their loved ones.

Villa Piaggia Wedding in Montaione, Italy | A Luxury Villa Wedding in Tuscany | Alex + Jacob | Intimate Tuscan Italian Wedding Venue | Destination Italian Wedding Photographer
Alex and Jacob traveled with their families from chicago all of the way to the tuscany countryside of Italy to have their wedding ceremony at the stunning Villa Piaggia. Villa PIaggia is located in the center of tuscan wine country and not only do they have their own olive vineyard but they have a beautiful historic villa that can comfortably sleep up to seventeen of your closest friends and family members.
My husband and I were also so kindly invited to stay at the villa for a few days with everyone and it was honestly such a beautiful time getting to know their family and spending time at their gorgeous wedding venue. Alex got ready with her sister and mom, after everyone had their breakfast in various areas around the villa PIaggia Garden. Ross and I were even able to enjoy some pool time wtih everyone the morning of their wedding day. It really could not have been a more relaxed and lovely setting and really set the mood for a serene and romantic italian wedding day.
Alex’s wedding dress was by Jenny Yoo, who honestly just does the loveliest cuts of a satin slip dress and really elevates them. Her shoes were also another favorite of mine, purple heels by sam edelman. Her earrings were also from one of the best jewelry designers, A.B. Ellie. A local florist, Exo-Usia Events, designed a beautiful and minimal floral arrangement for both the ceremony and outdoor dinner table scape. The ceremony was in the front garden of the villa with the tuscan vineyards in the backdrop of alex and jacob saying I do.
After the ceremony, we strolled through the villa piaggia property for their wedding portraits. villa piaggia has a beautiful orchard of olive trees that we were able to walk to and then they had their original farm buildings that truly were lovely pieces of history and a stunning flower garden in front of the property. After taking couple portraits around the villa we strolled back to where their loved ones were, which was drinking cocktails by the pooL. The poolside cocktail hour was filled with everyone enjoying the sunset and everyone watching them have their first dance by the reflection of the water.
Villa Piaggia has a private chef, Alessio Bagnoli, who really made the evening special for everyone. His courses were another level. He used local ingredients and made everything from scratch, right from the lovely kitchen in Villa Piaggia. The entire staff at the villa were lovely as well. truly the whole experience, from the perspective of both a guest and the photographer, really could not have been a more seamless and lovely wedding day at villa piaggia. I can’t recommend this villa in tuscany enough for anyone who wants a wedding day in the italian countryside.

An intimate wedding at Cheval the Edinburgh Grand Hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland | Amy & Marc | The Directors’ Suite Apartment in Edinburgh | The Register Club | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
Amy and Marc flew all of the way from Melbourne, Australia to be married in Edinburgh, Scotland. They decided to have Cheval The Edinburgh Grand be their intimate and stylish wedding venue. Cheval the Edinburgh Grand is a design led hotel located in the heart of Edinburgh on Saint Andrew Square. Amy had the loveliest apartment of the hotel, the directors suite, for her morning of getting ready with her sister and best friend. Amy’s wedding dress was The beautiful Salacea gown from chosen by Kyha, an australian bridal studio that balances between fashion and bridal. Amy’s gown was satin, had a corset as well as removable sleeves. I always love when a bride is excited about her outfit, and Amy could not have been more excited. Her gown also allowed a little room for her baby, as she was a few months pregnant on her wedding day. and with that in mind, it was so sweet to capture a bit of maternity photos throughout her wedding day. Also, The lovely Kirsty MacPherson-Blyth also was the lovely hair and makeup artist for Amy’s look for both the wedding day and the following evenings drinks reception.
Amy and marc had a first look just outside of the main entrance of cheval the Edinburgh Grand and then we strolled in the rain over to the Scottish national portrait gallery over on queen street. after spending some time around the art in the museum, we headed back outside for more couple portraits around saint andrew square after the rain stopped before heading back inside for their ceremony to begin. They had reserved the entire Director’s suite Apartment in the cheval at edinburgh grand for their wedding ceremony. IT was so intimate, with only around twenty of their closest family members and friends as thier witnesses. The director’s suite was fully decorated with floral arrangements by The Stockbridge Flower Company. after the ceremony there were cocktails in the rotunda for all of the guests before being seated for a formal dinner reception at one long table in a private dining room by the register club.
After speeches, a beautiful meal and surprise video calls from their australian friends from overseas, the next evening even more guests were invited to celebrate a drinks reception at the register club on the fourth floor of cheval the edinburgh grand. a lot of guests were from australia, and it was so lovely to hear them talk about what they had planned for the next week in and around scotland. I love when I hear other foreigners, like myself, remind me of all of the uniqueness and beauty of this lovely and historic part of the world. Overall, this wedding day was such a sweet and intimate celebration of love in the beautiful city of Edinburgh, Scotland.
“Cheval The Edinburgh Grand is one of the best hotels in Edinburgh to have an intimate wedding day with your closest loved ones.”

An Intimate Wedding Reception at the Gleneagles Townhouse in edinburgh, Scotland | Laura & Francis | Edinburgh City Chambers Ceremony | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
Laura and Francis were married in the beautiful and romantic city of Edinburgh, Scotland. They started their wedding day with a lovely wedding ceremony at Edinburgh City Chambers and ended it with an intimate wedding reception at The Spence in The Gleneagles Townhouse.
They were married in one of my favorite rooms, The European Room, which is located a few floors up in the City Chambers building. It is only available for ceremonies on the weekends, as it is a room used for Edinburgh City Chambers meetings during the week.
Francis arrived early to stand at the front and see Laura for the first time as she walked down the aisle in her stunning wedding dress. The ceremony was a beautiful one and afterwards we took a few portraits by the large windows that naturally lit them both before we headed downstairs to the Edinburgh City Chambers front courtyard entrance, where all of their family members and closest friends were waiting to greet and celebrate them!
After Laura and Francis hugged their loved ones we strolled around Edinburgh together while I captured their wedding portraits. I really enjoy capturing candids from a distance, so that they can chat to each other for a bit with some privacy and just hold hands and stroll together as husband and wife. We strolled from The Royal Mile all of the way to The Gleneagles Townhouse Hotel, where the last half of their wedding day took place.
Once we arrived at The Gleneagles Townhouse, we went straight upstairs to the members only lamplighters rooftop bar and then to the downstairs bar at The Spence for Laura and Francis to have their first drinks together as husband and wife. Slowly guests started making their way to The Spence bar to enjoy a few drinks before being seated in the private garden room for speeches, a cake cutting and a lovely multiple course dinner from The Spence Restaurant. Honestly, if you're still looking for a place to host your intimate wedding, reaching out to local restaurants is always a good place to start. In this case, The Gleneagles Townhouse was the perfect venue for Laura and Francis' intimate wedding reception with their loved ones in the heart of Edinburgh.
“The Spence at The Gleneagles Townhouse is one of the loveliest settings for an intimate private dinner reception with your loved ones.”

A West Loop Wedding at Nobu Hotel and Swift & Sons | Yuliya and Matt | Chicago Wedding Photographer | Destination Wedding Photographer
Yuliya and Matt spent the morning of their wedding day getting ready at Nobu Hotel with all of their closest loved ones. They both had matching corner room suites that overlooking the Chicago city skyline. Yuliya wore a dress that was customized by Ellen Veli Atelier and a pair of stunning Manolo Blahnik heels. They both had a cheers with their families separately and then Yuliya had a moment alone with her father for a first look. After the embracing and a sweet quiet moment with her dad, Yuliya waited for Matt to come down to her suite for their first look together. When he came around the corner, his face was in awe of the beauty that is Yuliya in her stunning bridal look. After everyone gathered their things we all headed down to the lobby of the Nobu Hotel where a stretch hummer limo was waiting for all of the family members to ride together to the ceremony.
The ceremony took place in the center of downtown Chicago on the Chicago River. There is a Chicago river walk that runs all along the river and the has so many lovely view points with the skyscrapers, trains and bridges in the backdrop. Yuliya and Matt chose a beautiful location that incorporated all of those things behind them while they said their vows to each other and said “I Do” to spending the rest of their life together as husband and wife. It really was such a picturesque backdrop of the city that they met and fell in love in all around them. Everyone then took family photos on the river and then in front of The Wrigley Building with the river behind them.
After the ceremony and family photos, the limo dropped us off over to Chicago-Kent College of Law, to take photos where Yuliya and Matt met and went to Law School together, while it took the rest of the guests over to Swift and Sons for their intimate dinner wedding reception in Fulton Market. Yuliya and Matt went all over Chicago-Kent College of Law to take couples portraits in all of the areas where they spent time together. They even took photos in the exact elevator where they literally saw each other for the first time, which I thought was the sweetest thing. There is also a library area where they picked up books related to their law studies, and they even switched books based on the topics. Honestly, I couldn’t get enough of these two and their movie romance love story from their time in University. It was so endearing seeing them light up about memories within the campus.
After we finished with couples portraits we headed over to Nobu Hotel, where their family and friends were waiting for them and we all rode over to Swift and Sons in Fulton Market together. They had a private room and bar area rented out in Swift and Sons and their guests were able to enjoy canapés, drinks and a beautiful slideshow of film photos of them growing up as children until now. It was really sweet to watch their parents faces light up with joy at seeing how these two have grown into such the beautiful and loving pair that they are now. It was a truly beautiful and intimate wedding day in downtown Chicago and I’m so honored that they asked me document these sweet memories for them to remember forever. x

Edinburgh City Chambers Wedding | Edinburgh, Scotland Elopement Photographer | Virgin Hotels Edinburgh Cocktail Hour | Bonham Hotel Wedding Reception | Duygu + Chris
Edinburgh City Chambers Wedding | Edinburgh, Scotland ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER | Virgin Hotels Edinburgh Cocktail Hour | Bonham Hotel Wedding Reception
Edinburgh City Chambers weddings are some of my favorite weddings to photograph in Edinburgh, Scotland. Nestled in the heart of historic Edinburgh lies a gem of elegance and heritage: the Edinburgh City Chambers. This enchanting venue provided the perfect backdrop for duygu and chris’ intimate wedding ceremony that seamlessly blended tradition with modern flair. The couple exchanged vows amidst the grandeur of this historic building, surrounded by close family and friends. The picturesque setting lent itself beautifully to capturing timeless portraits. After taking all of the family wedding photos in the courtyard of Edinburgh city chambers, we headed over to Calton Hill and the iconic Royal Mile serving as stunning historic backdrops for couple portraits to create memories frozen in time.
Following the heartfelt ceremony at Edinburgh City Chambers, the celebration continued at the stylish and modern commons club at the Virgin Hotel in Edinburgh, where a delightful cocktail hour awaited the guests. The lively atmosphere and chic ambiance set the stage for laughter and heartfelt conversations, creating unforgettable memories. But the excitement didn't stop there—the couple surprised their guests with a whimsical twist by arranging a double-decker bus ride to the Bonham Hotel. As they traveled through the streets of Edinburgh, an acoustic guitarist serenaded the group, setting the mood for an evening of enchantment.
Arriving at the Bonham Hotel, all of duygu and chris’ wedding guests were greeted with the melodic tunes of the guitarist continuing over drinks. The intimate gathering exuded an aura of warmth and closeness as guests mingled and shared stories. The night crescendoed into a formal dinner reception, where the couple, alongside their loved ones, had a beautiful multi course dinner around one large table with their loved ones. The ambiance was elevated by the elegant setting and the heartfelt speeches that echoed through the halls, celebrating the union of two souls amidst the beauty of Edinburgh's rich cultural tapestry.
This unforgettable celebration wove together the timeless charm of Edinburgh's landmarks with the couple's unique vision, creating an intimate wedding experience that will forever linger in the hearts of all who attended. From the historic City Chambers to the scenic Calton Hill and the lively streets of the Royal Mile, every moment was a testament to love, heritage, and the magic of creating cherished memories in a city steeped in history and romance.
Wedding Ceremony - Edinburgh City Chambers European room // Wedding Cocktail Hour - Virgin Hotels Edinburgh // Wedding Reception - Bonham Hotel // Wedding Portraits - The Royal Mile and Calton Hill
the Edinburgh City Chambers European Room on The Royal Mile is a dreamy spot for couples to tie the knot. It's like stepping into a fairy tale—beautiful ceilings, fancy lights, and old-style buildings make it feel like you’re a part of history.
Getting married here isn't just about the ceremony. It's about being part of something bigger. The room has seen so much history, and now it gets to be a part of a new love story. The Royal Mile's streets add to the magic. They're charming and make the whole day feel special. Saying "I do" here means connecting your love story to Edinburgh's past—it's pretty SWEET.
After the vows, the newlyweds are surrounded by a place that's seen a ton of stories. It's a reminder that their love is now a part of something really timeless and awesome. Basically, getting married in a historic wedding venue like the European Room in city Chambers isn't just romantic—it's like adding your love story to an endless list of other amazing stories from the past.
After a beautiful ceremony at the Edinburgh City Chambers, this wedding couple went for a super cool move. They chose the Virgin Hotels in the old town on Victoria Street for their guests' hangout—the Commons Club bar—for a post-ceremony cocktail hour. Now, this place isn't just any bar. It's like stepping into a trendy spot with a vibe that screams fun and chic. The couple decided to treat their guests to something special, turning the usual after-ceremony gathering into an unforgettable experience.
The Commons Club is like a hidden gem in the heart of Edinburgh's old town. It's not just a bar; it's a place filled with Solid drinks, clinking glasses, and good times. The atmosphere is electric, with its cool décor and cozy corners—it's the perfect spot for guests to unwind and celebrate the newlyweds' big moment. The choice of this spot wasn't just about a fancy venue—it was about creating an extension of the joy from the ceremony. By picking a spot like the Commons Club, the couple gave their guests a chance to keep the celebration going in a place that's all about good vibes and making memories. Imagine the happiness in the air as friends and family toast to the newlyweds, surrounded by the historic charm of Victoria Street. It's not just a bar; it's an extension of the love and joy that started at the City Chambers.
In a nutshell, this couple didn't just plan a wedding; they orchestrated a whole experience. Choosing a spot like the Commons Club wasn't just about drinks—it was about giving their guests a piece of their happiness in a place that's stylish, lively, and oh-so-memorable.
aS newlyweds, duygu and chris stood on top of Calton Hill in Edinburgh, the rain adding a touch of charm as they pose with umbrellas overlooking the majestic Edinburgh Castle. Despite the rain, the scene feels straight out of a romantic movie. The couple's love shines through the mist, embraced by the beauty of Edinburgh’s city skyline. The rain becomes part of the story, adding a poetic allure to their portraits against the backdrop of the ancient castle. It's not just about taking pictures—it's about turning challenges into beautiful, unforgettable memories. Calton Hill never disappoints on a wedding day, even in the rain it’s worth the drive or walk up.
Finally, Duygu and Chris had their wedding bus drop off all of their guests after a tour of edinburgh’s new town, to an intimate wedding reception tucked away in the charming Bonham Hotel, nestled in Edinburgh's picturesque West End. The setting exudes an elegant and cozy atmosphere, creating the perfect ambiance for a heartfelt celebration.
The Bonham Hotel is like a hidden gem, offering a blend of sophistication and warmth. The intimate reception feels like a private gathering among dear friends and family. The soft glow of lights, the tasteful décor, and the welcoming ambiance made for a beautiful evening. The couple, surrounded by their closest loved ones, shares laughter, heartfelt toasts, and cherished moments. The beauty of an intimate reception lies in the ability to truly connect, to have conversations that linger and memories that feel deeply personal.
As the evening unfolds, the culinary delights crafted by the bonham hotel's chefs add to the magic. Each dish is not just a meal but a work of art, served with care and attention to detail. The flavors dance on the palate, enhancing the joy of the occasion. The Bonham Hotel's West End location adds a touch of sophistication to the celebration. The quiet elegance of the surroundings becomes a backdrop to the love and happiness shared within. It's a perfect blend of intimacy and casual dinner party, creating an evening that feels both lavish yet personal.
And amidst it all, the newlyweds steal glances, their eyes reflecting the sheer joy of starting this new chapter together. The Bonham Hotel, with its intimate charm, becomes a starting place where their love and celebration intertwine, creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime with all of their closest family members. x

RL RESTAURANT
Sam (the stylish, hilarious and “worth following along online” bride) and her endearing partner Joe decided to have an intimate wedding ceremony before their larger celebration with friends in Mexico. So they decided to have a Chicago City Hall Elopement with their closest family members. We met at City Hall, where they had gotten their marriage certificate and then we strolled around the historic building to take their bridal portraits. Sam was wearing a chic all white shoulder padded suit with a stunning choker from Vivienne Westwood. Her makeup was done by the talented Miranda Cary and her hair was done by the amazing Alex Brown Hair. Both ladies are some of the best hair and makeup artists in Chicago. We also did a bit of strolling around La Salle, because that street has some of the loveliest building architecture and textures for portrait backdrops.
After the bridal portraits downtown we left the Chicago City Hall area and headed towards the Chicago River. The Chicago River is the perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony, as it creates an open space amidst the skyscrapers in downtown Chicago. They decided to pick a space that was near somewhere meaningful to them, so we settled in a beautiful inlet of the sidewalk in the center of the city. There family was all waiting for them to arrive as they walked up. They had the lovely Rev Beth of Rev Beth Weddings officiate the wedding ceremony and she is one of my favorite officiants in Chicago. The way she words things so personably, is open to any kind of couple (no matter the background or religion) and is flexible to meet you anywhere to perform your wedding ceremony, she is simply the sweetest. They exchanged wedding rings and said ‘I do’ in front of all of their loved ones in the city center. After the ceremony there were many family hugs, kisses, selfies and heart warming smiles.
Joe helped Samantha get into a luxury SUV where they had their vintage bottle of Dom Perignon Champagne and cuddles before heading to meet their family members at the Ralph Lauren RL Restaurant. At the RL Restaurant the two of them stopped off for a drink and private cheers in the bar area and then joined the rest of their family at the dinner table. They did things the best way possible, cake first. A delicious cake was brought to them straight after being seated and they didn’t just cut it, but ate it and I love that about Same and Joe! They had a family toast and then enjoyed the rest of their evening together making memories around the dinner table with the ones they love. I really appreciate being able to capture such personal and intimate memories in couples lives. Sam and Joe, the stylish newlyweds that you are, I absolutely adore you both and your sweet and spicy personalities! x

An Intimate San Diego Wedding At Sunrise | Elena + Sam | California Wedding Photographer | San Diego Wedding PhotogRapher | Destination Wedding Photographer
When Elena and Sam told me they wanted their wedding ceremony to be in San Diego at sunrise, I couldn’t have been more excited. There is something so majestic and emotive about the sun rising in the morning, especially when the backdrop is endless curves of the California hilltops and palm trees over a beautiful Lake in northern San Diego. Elena and Sam rented a private home for their whole family to stay. Literally, one of the best ways to have an intimate wedding and the best way to avoid too many logistics of driving around and commuting for everyone on a wedding day. I didn’t photograph this part of the home, but this estate also had a large pool, jacuzzi and rec room with a ping-ping table, literally, that’s the life. (I grew up with a ping-pong table, so always get very excited when seeing them). Anyways, back to this lovely wedding day! I was staying near sunset cliffs in San Diego, and was easily able to Uber up to the estate when it was still completely dark outside, to be there in time for the sunrise.
When I arrived Elena was upstairs getting ready, so of course I went up there first, said hello and took a few photos of her details. Her veil was by the New York designer, Danielle Frankel Studio, and she wore a custom dress that she designed with the help of her friends, dressmakers Blush Fashion and Custom Sewing by Heather. Her modern hairclip was from Lelet NY. Her wedding bouquet was also a work of art that was created with florals from Afloral. After capturing her morning of putting her finishing touches on, I went downstairs to scout out the ceremony site, and when I walked downstairs her sweet mom offered me coffee (which was much appreciated) and I watched the sunrise alongside all of the other family members who were slowly making their way to the backyard terrace overlooking the hilltops. One of my favorite shots I captured from this wedding day, was of Elena’s dad and his mug of coffee, all alone, up before anyone else and just standing at the ceremony site, drinking his coffee and watching the sun slowly rise above the fog over Lake Hodges. Seriously, It was so moving to me, but I can only imagine how moved he must have been feeling on the morning of his daughters wedding day. It was all very emotional and sweet. Once the sun was just over the hills, Elena walked down the aisle towards Sam, with all of their immediate families in support of them. The fog was still hovering from the morning mist and it was a truly beautiful site.
After the ceremony we took a stroll down the cliffside that the rental home was perched upon to take a few couple portraits with the stunning California scenery in the background. We then made our way back to the house for detail images, family portraits and more couple photos. What I loved about this day, is that is all they wanted captured. The wedding day focus for them was the ceremony, and that is the main part they wanted captured. Since the whole family was together in their home, everyone went straight back into casual attire and just enjoyed the rest of their time together as a family. I enjoyed another cup of coffee with everyone before Ubering back to the city center of San Diego and the family went on to have a relaxing day of spending time together. I loved how intimate this wedding day was. Truly, a bride with good taste, a beautiful setting and your closest people are all you need to have a beautiful intimate wedding day. x

Liza and Rick decided to have their wedding day be an intimate and romantic one. They started their day getting ready at The Peninsula Hotel together. I think it’s really sweet when couples do that, especially for those who may have nerves and don’t want that build up tension of a formal first look and it gives you a chance to spend the whole morning with your partner. They had a car service rented for the afternoon, which took us to all of the locations in the city where they wanted photos together. Honestly, if you’re up in the air about hiring a car (limo, party bus, etc), trust me, it’s definitely worth it. This gives you the chance to hop in and out of the car while the driver is waiting at every corner for you, and you don’t have to drive around searching for parking or calling Uber’s, which can take such valuable time away from you both on your wedding day, and gives you more freedom to enjoy drinks or your favorite snacks during your ride around town.
Liza and Rick rented a private room in RPM Seafood that has a balcony overlooking the Chicago River and has some of the best views of downtown. They had a small wedding ceremony there with a few of their closest family members and friends. I love how every couple make their day unique, whether it’s a large party into the night or a sweet, intimate dinner with a view, like this day was, I am always happy to document such a memorable and meaningful day in couples lives. x

This New York City wedding day started in the quaint neighborhood of Chelsea, where the the bride and groom live. Alex spent her morning at The Moxy Hotel with her mom, sister and closest friends. Her wedding dress was from a local Brooklyn bridal boutique , The One Bridal, by dress designer, Cortana Brides. After getting ready they headed over to Hudson River Park at Pier 45, where Adam and Alex’s friends and family were waiting to greet them. After getting married on the pier with the NYC skyline as their backdrop, we walked back into Chelsea to stroll around their neighborhood for portraits. Because they live in that neighborhood, it was meaningful for them to have portraits in a place that was special to them and Chelsea, itself, is just so quaint. We took the subway up a few stops before getting out to hail a yellow taxi to take us to the reception venue. We arrived to Dear Irving on Hudson Rooftop Bar just before the guests arrived for canapés and drinks so we could take portraits on the rooftop balcony overlooking the north side of Manhattan. The venue has a lovely modern and a bit of art deco vibe, with wooden walls, records on the walls and colorful velvet couches. It was such a lovely evening of mingling, eating, drinking and sweet memories with all of their loved ones overlooking one of the most beautiful cities in the world. NYC skyscrapers glisten as the sun goes down and it made for such an unforgettable evening full of love. x

Courtney’s whole outfit was curated vintage and her earrings were from local designer, Cities in Dust. Our friend Alisha, was filming on a Super 8mm Camera the entire day, and it turned out stunning!
Colin is a wine sommelier at a the Bonhomme restaurant group, so all of the venues were in that talented group for their wedding day. The ceremony was held at Beatnick on the River, The intimate dinner was held on the private second floor of Mama Delia’s, and the Disco reception took place at Disco Bar. Between the ceremony, where their friend officiated for them, there was wine and walking around downtown for a few portraits. Then after the dinner, everyone started to add glitter to their makeup and everyone ubered over to the Disco Bar. Once we were there, it was endless dancing, a completely lit dance floor (both literally and figuratively), two DJ’s and lots of joy! Courtney and Colin truly had a wedding that reflected who they both were as people and their eclectic styles weren’t put in a box! I’m so honored to have captured these moments from their stylish, inspiring and party of a wedding day!
